About the Event
Attendees will discover:
- How to manage streets, sidewalks, and curbs for pedestrians, pick ups, and parking given competing demands
- How to create temporary outdoor spaces that provide more room for business activity
- How to find resources to create short term and long term changes for businesses, blocks, and communities
During the workshop, main street teams will:
- Re-imagine a block or part of a block for socially distanced business activity such as outdoor dining, pedestrians, sales and commercial activity, and public transit.
- Produce a road map (pun intended!) to plan, execute, or pursue partners and funding for street and sidewalk improvements in their business district.
What you need to bring:
- A team that understands or represents the businesses in the district
- A location where business activity could be improved through the reconfiguration or improvement of sidewalks, curbsides, and general streetscape reconfiguration.
- Any available background information on the businesses or physical location
