Help shape Pitcairn’s business district by offering your feedback at Build Sessions! We will brainstorm ways to make the business district on Broadway more user-friendly and welcoming, attract new people and businesses, and make Pitcairn more eligible for public funding and private investment.

Join a Build Session

 

Allegheny Together will be hosting three Build Sessions, focused on Pitcairn’s Place, Market, and Identity. Feel free to attend them all, or just one that interests you most!

​

The build sessions will be interactive and focused on creating a shared vision for Pitcairn’s future. Everyone is invited! Join your neighbors in a collaborative space, get involved, and share your ideas to enhance the business district in Pitcairn! 

​

*All Build Sessions will be held at the Borough Building (609 Broadway Blvd.)

Place

Thursday August 12, 5:30-7:30pm

  • Calming traffic  

  • Gateway improvements

  • Public park and Turtle Creek enhancements

  • Environmental health

Market

Monday August 17, 5:30-7:30pm

  • Renovating/right-sizing buildings for new and existing businesses

  • Zoning and code analysis 

  • Addressing vacancy 

  • Increasing foot traffic, signage, facade improvements

  • Creating a business-owners association

 

Identity

Tuesday August 18, 5:30-7:30pm

  • Telecommuting and Broadband access

  • Entrepreneurship and creativity

  • -outh engagement

  • Public events linked to history and recreation

  • Corridor, gateways, and intersection improvements 

  • Using vacant/public space for placemaking

  • Assistance to existing businesses (e.g. mentoring, financing) 

  • Addressing vacancy and renovating buildings for business attraction

  • Mixed use (retail, light industrial, manufacturing) real estate opportunities

  • Piloting food and farming businesses

  • Increasing foot traffic, signage, facade improvements

 

Identity

  • Black owned business cluster

  • Growing the maker/creative economy

  • Youth engagement and recreation 

  • Celebrating cultural history and diversity of the region
